Well you could go with some of the old fashioned ways that people thought would give the answer, if you are carrying it high it is a boy and low if it is a girl. If you have bad heart burn it is a boy if you don't have any at all it is a girl, but those way prove to be wrong in most cases, the only way you are going know for certain is if you have a sonogram done, and then that is not 100% correct. They told me my son was a girl at first. Poor thing I called him Erica for a while because that was what we were going to name the girl, it is a wonder he recognized his name when he was born lol. Just kidding, but a sonogram is the best and only way to go.

For sure, only through genetic testing (amniocentesis or CVS).
An ultrasound after 18 weeks can be fairly accurate, depending on the positioning of the fetus and the skill of the ultrasonographer. They are only going by what it LOOKS like, not the X or Y chromosomes. They sometimes can be wrong.

try to get your ultrasound done right around the 20 week point and if the baby decides to be turned the right way they can tell. The ultrasounds are a lot cooler these days, some actually look like pictures! good luck!

The only sure way is to have genetic testing done , you can have ultrasounds and that can be wrong at times,Depends on how stilled the tech is. Anything that involves string, sayings and how to do's ect are just myths and or coincidence

You'll have to wait until you get an ultrasound done. And sometimes they are 100% right. But i never had a problem with them ;)

unless you have an amnio you won't know for sure and you won't get one of them unless there is a high chance your baby may have a genetic disorder, i used to work for a mail order company and took numerous phonecalls from people who wanted to return items because they had been told the wrong sex after a scan!
