Why is music playing but theirs no portal up?

I can hear music fine and clearly, but I don't see a window.

Actually, it's alt+tab, smartie. You probably have a web browser window open, and there is music embedded in it. Close your IE (or Firefox or whatever) windows, it should go away.

After you've learned English, hit control-tab to loop through the open programs, so you'll see which program is playing.
