I saw a question about women marrying older men and it caught my eye.
The age difference between my SO and I is rather huge... but I'm kind of paranoid about it since there is such a negative stigma attached to younger women-older men relationships.
So if you are married to an older man, what is the age difference?

I am a man, but I know a woman in her late 20s who is married to a man who will turn 50 this year. She has been asked countless times why she would marry someone much older than she is. Her answer is that she fell in love with him entirely - both his physical appearance and his wonderful spirit and soul. She was tired of the "immaturity/lack of direction" from the men her own age and found it refreshing when she met her husband because he was so confident and sure of himself.

My husband is 18 years older than I am...we have been together for over 7 years (married for the past five). We met when I was 22 and he was almost 40 (I thought he was in his early 30's)The age has never bothered me and it is something that I don't even think about. My husband had a harder time accepting the age difference than I did. My family was very receptive to him...he is a wonderful man who loves me very much. As long as that was true and I was happy, then the age difference didn't matter to them.

Of course, there will be some people who will question your choice....maybe they just need to analyze their own relationship because most people who criticize you for something that makes you happy are unhappy themselves with their own problems.

If you truly love your man, then rejoice in the happiness you've found and be grateful for every day you have with him! No one can live your life but you!

13 plus years. We have been together since I was 19. We have been together almost 8 years. I didn't know he was that old (he looks 25) and he thought I was 24. People used to say very mean things, now they don't. I never dated anyone that much older than me before, but we are soul mates. My 3 kids are the glue that holds our family strong...along with our love...

I wouldn't worry about it. If the two of you are happy, to hell with what everyone else thinks! That is the stance I had to take with my marriage.(My family was VERY unhappy with the situation, and after four years they are still dealing with it) I'm 24 and hubby is 62, yes, HUGE difference but it is only a problem if you allow it to be. Take heart, sweetie, age is just a number.

My parents had a 17 year age gap. They stayed married for 15 years, but are now divorced.
