Blood and Chocolate, Tithe and Blue Bloods were good. Also Meg Cabot's Mediator series starting with Shadowland are absolutely fantastic. My book, The Shadow Within, has also been recommended to people who enjoyed Twilight in a couple reviews (although it has nothing to do with vampires).

I'd recommend Fearless. Its set in NYC but it has a girl who seems normal but for one fantasy set element; she has no fear gene. As a compensation, her intellectual, physical, and such senses are so much better. Yes I know theres no such thing as a fear gene but its a really good books series and I enjoyed it tremendously.
