Scotland should always remain within the United Kingdom , there is no other way..discuss?

Nationalism and religion has caused nothing but pure misery around the world for centuries. To even contemplate 'seperation' means to segregate yourself from others and become inward , backward and insular thinking. I'm a working class Scot and have no quams about my British [UK] status. Gordon Brown is exactly right when he says that the 'nationalists' are opportunists with no track record that must be guarded against. One saving grace is that the way the voting system is set up in Scotland , no-one gets overall control. The 'nationalists' say they are socialists too , where have I heard that before [National Socialist Party of Germany].... Nazi Germany. Look at the bigger picture and oust the idea straight away.

let Scotland have independence .become a separate member of the eu.It would have its own defence system assuming it becomes part of nato.As for the oil If iremember right history and geography will show it never belong to them.They could get their subsidies from the eu instead of england same goes for the welsh,I can't see at the moment what they have to offer england,Only moans and groans polotitions who mess up england.I have been married to a scot for 43yrs, whilst she say her country is Scotland ,she says she would not want to return and if there is anyone potifficattig on the radio and tv its got to be a jock,she furter says when she was at school they were taught to hate the english.PLEASE give them their country back for all our sakes.

Most people in Northern Ireland also have 'no qualms' about being part of the UK, in fact they are almost completely into the idea, however Ireland will eventually be united again and the English troops will be 'ousted',( as they have been from most other parts of the globe)!!
Why are they still in Ireland now?

To equate a Scottish political party with Nazi's is a bit over the top, don't you think?
What has happened to the Scottish North sea oil money, have we got any of that, has it been ploughed back into the Scottish economy? I don't think so. I have seen English business starting up in Scotland, they flocked here on the promise of 'cheap labour' free factory rent, etc etc. Where are they now?
Factories empty, houses built to house the work force empty, business moved to Thailand (they now have cheaper labour costs,( little kids work for next to nothing)!!
I am also a 'working class' Scot and a 'socialist' in the 'old' meaning of the word, I have no time for the BNP who I believe to be Nazis.
Nationalist? Is that a dirty word now? How does Nationalist and Patriotism differ? I am very proud to be a Scot, I do know a bit about English history esp with regards to the Scots Welsh and Irish, not enough to make me a complete fanatic on the subject ,and I do know it is History!
So is the Nazi party! but it could return, the English ruling classes however are in the business of explotation and they have been in the business for many years and are even now 'doing their thing'
We dont need them in Scotland, we dont need them in any part of Ireland, we dont need them full stop!!
I have no 'beef' about any one else from any other part of the world, living in Sotland I am also anti all religion , but that is secondary to English dictatorship.
I have been in the 'British' army, I do know what 'dictatorship' is all about! I have 'been there done that'!
If you are really into this 'unification' thing why not go all out for the EU?
That is something I would rather go for where the English would have very little chance to express or act upon their dictatorship thing.
The only bit of your question I actually agree with is the religion bit!
Just as a matter of interest , would you class most Americans as Nationalistic or Patriots? Because the vast majority are either one or the other, and to my mind rightly so.

I'm an englishman no more a brit,as in scotland now we fly our own flag,so why should the union remain go for it be independant of the oppressive english,maybe its the only way we can gain respective republics australia too

theres nationalism and theres good house keeping, and theres total treason.you want good house keeping, your way keeping a strong british union is good, but this union has been betrayed, they have anhialated our ability to stand on our own feet by surrendering the making of our laws to a very very corrupt organisation called the european union, thats treason. your british union has is being deliberatly desmantled as four seperat states in the united states of europe. the union at present is a pretend union, defeated by europe , all those dead british troops of two world wars have been betrayed, because of this treatury the union will split, whichever of the british nations leave yourope shall be winners. the only way to keep us together is good tru leadership as the independant british isles, outher wise we are finished

Maybe they're getting ged up of being S.H.I.T. on. The increase in taxes in the whole of the united kingdom isn't helping. England done pretty well out of 'divide and rule', but now it's happening in the uk. What usually goes around comes around.

i think Scotland should be set free from english grip,for so long they have seen scotland as the test bed for new policies(poll tax smoking bans etc)if we are a united country why doesnt the whole of britain come under the same rules and share in the taxes, ban s etc

Why not separate then they can elect their own head of state and become a proper democracy unlike the UK which has never elected its head of state.

Independence is possible, but it will make a lot of poor people even poorer. The rich will just leave.
