Is there anything wrong with not being friends with a black person?

The color of a person's skin fails to capture how a person truly is. That is why in this day and age, so many people are fighting against racial discrimination. There are people within every creed and color who are nice, pleasant, and decent folk. However, every creed and color also have unpleasant, biased, and dangerous people as well. So it is not fair to say that all people with a certain shade of skin color are a certain way just because one individual you have encountered is a certain way.

Every race seems to have its own "culture" so a person from one race might have a better understanding of their own race than someone from a different race because racial isolation forced them to develop slightly different cultures. This difference should not discourage you from wanting to understand other people and try to make friends.

If we were all exactly the same then life would be very boring. Just ignore those who cry out because they think they are being treated unfairly or wish to put down other races. You wouldn't want a friend that makes fun of other people and makes you uncomfortable, so just move on to the next person. Eventually you will find that there are many black people who are down to earth and realize that the color of someone's skin doesn't reflect what's in a person's soul.

Don't fall prey to stereotyping and racial bias...think for yourself and find out for yourself what people are really like...in person.

I don't see a thing wrong with it. No one should be judged by the color of his or her skin. It's time everyone quit being so prejudiced against other races or religions. Every human being deserves respect based on what's on the inside and not on the outside. We all have a right to be treated fairly. So please do be a friend with a black person if you like that person. Who knows? The person that others shun could turn out to be the person who saves your life. Think about that one.

No. I am black myself but I would rather hang out with other cultures. Well, thats only because in my part of town the a lot of the blacks bring a bad name to the black community by acting on and doing the wrong things.

Black, pink, blonde, fat, old, young---- what's the problem? We are all souls--- temporarily in a body. We are NOT our bodies-- we're just using them for a while. Kind of like transportation for the being within.
So why all this silliness over color, etc. Its like saying "I can't be friends with you because you ride around in a Ford and I only like Chevy."
(Although I do concede that I am more attracted to people who drive a Toyota Prius than a Hummer!) ; )

Its not the color of the skin that matters, but the quality of the heart!

Why would there be anything wrong with being friends with a person of a different race?!?!? That question is very ignorant!!

That story is a disgrace. I can't comment on if things are different here in the UK.....some might say that this might go on with other ethnic groups. If race is even a cognitive issue of distinction when making friends, maybe not!

Is there anything wrong with being friends with anyone? Maybe it just depends on the person themselves instead?
