Well of course. Only an idiot would believe otherwise. Amazingly, Bush got it right.

I think someone in his administration has figured out that too many people are ignorant of history. Not that I like the thought of dieing, or losing more friends but here are some basic facts that no one seems to remember or more likely, never knew.
When you combine all of the combatants of WW I, the average loss of life per month was 98,000 men. And that war went on for how many years?
After the D-Day Invasion by the Allies in WW II, Gen. George S. Patton was ordered to drive the American 3 Army across France. He averaged a loss of 1,300 men a month. But, during the period of 08Nov - 07Dec1944, he lost on average 812 men per day.
So, when you look at the statistics of this war realistically, we've lost just over 3,000 men in 3 years. That works out to an average of 2.7 - 2.8 men a day. Add to that, the knowledge that the 3d Army was fighting a uniformed, easily identifiable enemy, as compared to the terrorists ("Insurgets" acoording to the news media) who wear no specific uniform and blend in and hide behind the aprons of women and diapers of children, I'd say our troops are doing a bang up job. The liberals and the media however, are constantly feeding the enemy and giving aid and support with their seditious rhetoric. Had the media of WW II operated on the same standard of "Ethics and "Morality" as does today's, we'd all be speaking German!

I think he's trying to tell us there will be casualties, even if it's successful. Apparently some Democrats have been convincing gullible Americans that Bush promised us there wouldn't be any casualties before, on the basis that he didn't specifically warn us that there would be. So he's just covering the bases.

Bush has no regard for the thousands of AMERICAN lives lost in his endless crusade. I doubt he ever considered for a moment what it was like to be a family member of a fallen soldier. He is a murderer!

I don't understand why more people aren't trying to stop
this maniac. Obviously, the violence & bloodshed haven't
achieved what he wanted - so what's the point? Desperation?
Disturbing.

What's to think about? When sending troops into harm's way there are going to be casualties. It's called WAR. Or if you're part of the PC crowd, Air-Land Battle. We can't offend anyone, remember. Gag! Barf! Puke! Ack!
