Where I live is serviced by NJ Transit, both bus and rail service.
The route I ride on is serviced by their Nova 'green'(eco-friendly)buses which run the local routes.

I live in Sheffield and my home is in the heart of my community shopping centre, just yards from a bus stop. "First Mainline" buses are every 15 minutes into town. I can be in town within 15 minutes and at the train station and gateway to the world 5 minutes later.

I dont think Sheffield airport, (again 15 minutes away) is commercially operational these days.

Dallas Texas has all of the above, including different sized buses on differently loaded routes, light rail covering a fair part of the county and expanding. Heavy rail train to Ft. Worth with expansion of that planned. Part of light rail is subway and a downtown subway is supposed to be planned. Fairly good usage. $2.50 takes you all day on Dallas County Routes, $4.50 does all day on whole system in both cities and their counties. About to go up by 50 cents.

San Francisco (where I recently moved from) has tons of great public transportation, including the BART which runs under and above ground throughout the Bay Area.

Now I live/work in Santa Monica which has a good bus system although I've never used it.

I live in Los Angeles. For it to be a big city, public transportation is not very good.

It's considered to be used by those who are too poor to afford a car or who have too many DUIs.
