Older than you? Wow, that IS old! Now, if it were older than me, the place would have been condemned years ago! I'd say lay an old, unwanted towel on the floor and pour straight bleach all over it. The towel will hold it there, and after an hour or two, remove the towel and discard. (You might want to wear rubber gloves, and don't drip the bleach on the floor!) Scrub it with a stiff brush and rinse. That nasty stuff is most likely mold spores from years of use and sitting moisture -especially if it's black. Bleach kills mold. And leaving it on that towel for a few hours disintegrates the cloth as well -which is why I say to use one you can afford to throw out. I can't promise this will totally clear it up, but it should help.

You didn't mention what your floor is, so I am guessing tile. And the nasty stuff is mildew?

Muratic acid is harsh and must be used with flawless ventilation, so I would not recommend it and am posting this just in case someone else suggests it.

Chlorine bleach is an easy cleaner, but again, ventilation is key. Chlorine is caustic and will eat up rags, but I have cleaned many a dingy rental IF the mildew, etc. is on the surface or etched in, not sealed under a gloss on the tile. (I rented a house that the single bathroom had had a wall leak, and the mildew was from the back going forward. I cringed for the entire four years I lived there.)

Anyway, splash bleach on the tiles and lay rags that you don't mind losing or paper towels over the bleach to keep it from evaporating. You may have to do this several times to lighten up.

Always make sure a surface where you have used bleach is well-washed and rinsed before you use something afterward.

Then use a stiff brush -- not wire -- and scrub with detergent, like dish soap or laundry soap. If the floor has soft caulk, the bleach will ruin it and it will have to be replaced. Discolored grout can be stained or painted with special paint, even white.

Once you have it clean and bleach cleaned off, you can use something like Dow's Scrubbing Bubbles on a regular basis to keep soap scum and mildew away.

Don't let anyone talk you into vinegar. I did, and it mildewed worse than my original problem.

I just asked this same question not even a week ago and some one told me about this product called "The works". Its so strong and it was the first product I found that actually did its job. I found the product at Walmart. I hope it works for you too!

PS- I've already tried clorox bathroom cleaner, comet, kaboom, tilex and many more and they don't work.

no longer plenty you're able to do..superb factor you're able to do is to make the long slope of approx an inch drop is to make it as flat as achievable on the slope to the drain.. You dont stand on the a million bring about many cases besides so the slope gained t be as undesirable there. You ll observe it yet you ll ought to have it..The pre slope you point out doesn t must be that severe considering that a preslope is going below the pan and easily prevents water from putting on the pan and pooling. placed some pea gravel around the drain base to maintain the weep holes from clogging. What has led to my maximum maintenance is water pooling and weeping up the partitions while weep holes clog up.. You sound such as you ve completed your examine GL

i always use Tilex.. they have a kind that gets soap scum off, and they also have a kind that gets mold and mildew off. you can buy both kinds at walmart of almost any place that sells cleaners. it's very cheap, and works good. also, when you use it, just spray it on, and let it set for at least 10 minutes, and then scrub it a little bit, and then rinse it off. good luck!
