I am very fair and have fine blond hair above my upper lip that is sometimes noticeable in certain lighting. It is starting to bother me. I have used a Sally Hansen hair removal cream before and one time I left it on for too short a time and it left me with stubble, and one time I left it on too long and it irritated my skin. How do you recommend removing hair above the upper lip?

I have had this problem my entire life. I have dark hair on my upper lip and sometimes on the chin and sides of my face. I have waxed, bleached, shaved and pulled the hair with tweezers. My solution has become using a facial epliator made by Panasonic (model ES 2029). I started using it every 3-5 days and as the hair grows back it is much finer and lighter. I have been using it on my lip, chin and sides of my face for over a year and I love the results. I now use it weekly and just when I see a problem hair show up. It keeps my skin smooth and totally hair free. There are models made by many different companies and they all work about the same. It is much easier than tweezing, more convienent, no appointments for waxing, no irritated skin from bleaching and it is not very expensive. The more you use ithe less you need it and it is not painful at all. You can remove hairs any time you see them quickly.

I would tell you just to leave it but as you say it bothers you I would tell you to be careful. If you wax and don't know how, you may burn your skin, you may leave it too long and then it's difficult to remove and most of the time the skin peels lightly like a light burn and gets a slightly darker color.

Do not shave, even if they're fine hairs they will feel harder and stronger when they grow back, just feel a man's face after shaving. The creams have the same effect because the hairs grow back right from the surface of the skin, they're not removed from the hair follicles. Bleaching seems to harden the hair (consult a hair colorist or hairdresser).

I would say use the tweezers. It takes a little longer then waxing but you don't get the dry skin and it pulls them off the root.

This bothers me too.
Plucking is most portable, but it's a barbaric method and make sure you wash or use astringent right after to prevent breakout.
Some salons offer threading which is an Indian-region technique using string. Same as plucking but way faster.
Waxing if you can handle it. It rips my skin off and then I have two fu-man-chu scabs which are way more noticeable than the original issue, no special light required.
Good luck

I have this problem, except mine is dark hair. It's not that noticeable, but it still bothers me to no end. I just shave it every week or so right before I put on my makeup with a good razor (like a Venus razor). It doesn't leave stubble because it's pretty fine hair. Shaving is the easiest way to do it and it doesn't hurt, like waxing or plucking.

Get it waxed. Waxing will leave your hair a little darker so you may have to get it done a lot. If you don't want to consider that then you should dye it a very light blonde color. I think dying it will be better though.

thread it
you take like regular sewing thread and tie a knot with both ends to make it a long circle.
then twist it in the middle, and pull your hair through
it seriously works better than waxing and plucking because it gets your hair roots so you dont have to do it as often, and it looks better
it might hurt a bit, but its definitely worth it

if you dont understand my directions, then ask someone at a beauty parlor, because i bet you they know how to do it

it depends on if you have sensitive skin or not and how long u have to do it. the fastest is waxing but it hurts a little. the longest it plucking but is less pain. i heard shaving works but if u shave when it grows back it will fell weird and be all prickly but it is up to u!!
