Ethanol is miscible in water in any proportion.

Ethanol doesn't conduct electricity - it's covalently bonded and there is no ionic nature to it -- thus, no conductivity of electron flow.

Hexanol has an -OH bond and that leads to hydrogen bonding. The Oxygen atom is highly electronegative, pulling a lion's share of the H electron toward the O. This leaves a partial positive charge on the H, making Hydrogen bonding possible.

Water and methanal are both covalent, but the aldehyde group makes the molecule polar. Since water is also polar, and like dissolves like, it mixes.
