people ask me what my fav sport and i tell them cheerleading and they say "no dear a PROPER sport not waving pom poims!"

yes i do all sports and this is by far the hardes one competitive cheer and mostly guys say it is a sport but girls dont beacuse there just jelious that all the guys go for cheerleaders

Not to get nerdy on you, but sport is defined as: an active pasttime; diversion; phyiscal exercise and having a set form or body of rules. If you agree to the above conditions, then yes cheerleading is a sport. As you probably know, there are competitions designed just for cheerleading. Even now for the NFL there is a competition for cheerleaders. Once you are a certain age, you can get paid and make it a career.
If that is what you enjoy doing, do not let anyone steal that joy.

People who say that dont understand how physical cheerleading is now days it is nothing like it was years ago, you need good physical shape and it take a lot of concentration and energy to do this, they have never watched the National Cheerleading Championships, it is not only a sport but is just as dangerous and possibly more dangerous than most sports

Used by itself, sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome. According to this, cheerleding is a sport even though many people do not consider it one; just like fishing is a sport but many people don't consider it one either.

I would say that cheerleading IS a sport. It involves practice, physical exercise, and sometimes competition. Anyone who doesn't think cheerleading is a sport should try it for a few days and see how sore they are afterward! LOL

Cheerleading is a physical activity, but it isn't a sport. They cheer on the people actually playing a sport. Just because there are competitions doesn't make it a sport either. Beauty pagents are competitions, but are by no means a sport.

CHEERLEADING IS DEFINETLY A SPORT!!!! i've been a cheerleader for 6 years and have gotten better at fleibility endurance and many other things!!!!!

Yes, ofcorse cheerleading is a sport its fisical sport what you are getting exercise from it's as much as a sport than what darts is .

some people who take it serously take it as a sport but others who just hink of it as "waving pomp-poms around" dont its kinda like double dutch, some consider it a sport which it is but others just dont know it
