Get a ladder, or hire someone to do it for you. For those who may be thinking of getting high ceilings don't. Think about it. I wouldn't have one b/c it is a bit stupid sure it may look nice, but then you have be able to hang curtains, change light bulbs, and at some point during the year you should clean the walls. Walls you cant reach. Then you wind up on answers asking stupid questions like how to change a light bulb. I can do these things , and have helped friends do this. They wish they did not get those high ceilings.

Go to Lowes and buy a bulb changer on a long pole. I like the suction cup variety as they work best on spotlight-style bulbs. Much easier than a ladder.

Either a VERY long ladder or buy one of those long poles that have a thing on the end that grasps the bulb and you turn it which are sold in places like Lowe's.

you can rent a scaffold or an extension ladder at an equipment rental place or if it is something you aren't comfortable doing you can hire an electrical contractor to do it from anywhere between $50 -$125 an hour
