No, he's going to use those troops to wipe out militias that actually have public support and protect people. Unlike the Iraqi government, which is ineffective at best, and actively encouraging civil strife at worst.

I believe Bush tought killing Saddam would make Iraq much safer and still things look worse. A change can only be achieved,when the Iraq's shites,Sunnis or whatever see themselves as one. Until then we can send the whole U.S military over there and it would do no good. Things might come down for while, but there would be still killings.

No one's pointing out the fact that Bagdad is one city in an entire country. What about the rest of Iraq? You drive the enemy out of one city, they're just going to go to another. The war will end up as an endless game of whack-a-mole.

I am not over there, but my guess would be that Bush didn't pull the number out of his a-ss. That number is probably what the commanders on the ground, and the Iraqi government concluded would be enough.
I'd like to see them send 22000 to Florida to clean up this s-hit hole.

No. He is replacing the troops who have been killed or seriously wounded. He did not deploy enough troops in the first place.

triple that number since our soldiers are a lot more better trained with a lot better technology than those in Iraq. 1 of ours soldiers are as good as three of theirs.
