If I write the vowels for my wife and include certain things in them, like always keeping the house clean and always asking me for permission etc., and she breaks those rules, is that like breaking a legal contract?

No marriage vows have no legal standing. However a prenuptial agreement does.

I didn't know there were marriage VOWELS. I'm going to have to look that one up...I wonder if my daughter knows about marriage VOWELS...While your VOWS might not have any legal standing on their own, once you sign the papers to get married anything you "promise" becomes a part of that marriage contract. As far as her breaking a legal contract...that would be called divorce and is quite easily done especially in your case. Because what you are proposing to write into your VOWS is considered emotional abuse which happens to be a grounds for divorce, a very GOOD grounds for divorce which can garner her most of the marital assets...So it would almost benifit HER to marry you then turn around charge you with abuse/cruelty in a divorce suit and walk away with it all. So go ahead...put those into your VOWS...Wish I could be there in divorce court when she sues your butt off though...

I think you mean "vows" not "vowels." Anyhow, vows are meant to be promises that can and should be kept in the union of marriage like "trust" and "honesty." Marriage is not a contract that states that you get a slave to do everything you wish. You want a wife that "always asks you for permission"???? Dream on! You obviously have no concept of what marriage really is about.

what abouty her rules for you? Rules like "no looking at other women", "you have to make over $100,000 per year and buy her a mercedes". Since this marriage will just end in divorce why don't you just skip the marriage part and just buy her a house and then leave her alone.

Vowel??????

No minister would marry you with such idiotic childish, male chauvinist pig attitude... You're a real catch, hon. You aren't ready to get married. Grow up and become a man, You're still a baby...

Well, there has to be vowels in "marriage" because without them it would be "mrrg."
Do us all a favor--don't marry and don't breed!
