Pets are thought of by many pet owners almost on the same level as children. As for being "uppety", what do you mean? If you're going to cast around such accusations, the least you could do is be a little more specific.(Oh, and you might try having a pet yourself. It might lessen your need to troll, and might let you access a little more of YOUR humanity).

Uppety? I am an animal lover. Horse lover. Dog lover. I have 6 rodents, 2 mice, 2 gerbils and 2 rats. I have seen uppety horse and dog owners, usually when they have pedigree/showing animals, because they think they are better than everyone else. Showjumping riders are the worst. Find someone who drives horses, (horse and cart) theyre the most down to earth people I've ever met!!

if your talking about they way some of us answer on here, being snappy an all, then yes, some of us are (me included!), that is simply because people that have a little common sense would know better than to sit on a computer forum and ask why their dog is vommiting blood and what could be wrong and IF they should go to a vet, and us people that DO have common sense get irritated and downright p i s s e d at the pure ignorance some people display.....
otherwise.
I think of my pets as my children (granted furry kids that don't have to go to school, mostly), and when someone attacks that about us, we get mad.
just use common sense about pets.

It's really very simple;
Pet owners generally are somewhat more intelligent than non pet owners.
It takes commitment, dedication, responsability, compassion, love, time, not to mention money to own a pet.
These things are usually lacking in people who choose not to have a pet.
As for seeing pet owners as 'uppity' - I would suggest it is a misinterpretation of annoyance when someone who has a pet has clearly shown a lack of one of the above and they may advise them as to how best handle a problem they have failed to address.
Do I sound uppity? Hhhmmmmmm...........

Uppity about what? The fact that we adore our pets and think they bring much joy into our lives? If that makes me "uppity" then I'm happy to be that way.

I beg your pardon! My cat Mia is my sweet little girl! Our pets treat us well they love us no matter what our skin color or if we are rich or poor. They don't mistreat us they love us. I can't say that about people. I hurt every time I hear that a person that I thought I liked hates a poor helpless cat or dog! You have attacked our credibility and yep you are going to get a tongue lashing over this one. Once you learn to love your fellow human beings like our pets love us you will know real love.Unconditional love.
