''Swordtails do best in a well planted tank with lots of room to swim around. Provide floating plants to protect the young as the parents often eat their fry. Like all livebearers, they do like a bit of salt though it is not necessary.''

The females will produce young every 4 weeks - how many varies with each female, and you might have a few survive in a moderately planted community tank, also depending on how many fish and how many plants.

#1 Depends on the maturity of the fish,and the over-all condition. #2 See answer #1. #3 Depends on a lot of factors,size of tank,temperature, feeding system(live food,just flakes,plant material.) #4 Same as#3. PeeTee
