there are chemicals you can use, but I personally had a plecostomus catfish that eats algae and they do pretty good. You have to watch the type you get though as some grow very large.

Fish tanks will always have *some* algae.
But, you can control how much by getting animals that eat algae, but be careful as some things sold as "algae" eaters get huge and will eat your other fish.
Otto cats eat algae, shrimp and snails eat algae, a small pleco (not a common who will grow huge) and other things will eat algae.
Live plants will help control algae by competing for nutrients.

easy get anti algae from a fish store.just dump as much as it says to on the back of the bottle and then the algae will die in a few days and either fall to the bottom or float to the top then just remove the algae with a cup.good luck! OH YEA!THE ALGAE IS NOT HARM FULL TO THE OTHER PLANTS THEY ACTUALLY EAT IT

You can buy a special scrubbing tool from a pet store, but it requires a fair amount of elbow grease. there is no automatic way to remove algae. to remove algae form the bottom of the tank (in the gravel) , you need a special kind of aquarium vaccum and a large bucket. Be sure not to suck up any fish! all of these items should be available at a large pet store that sells fish.

Snails and Algae eaters would be the best thing. Or if it's on the glass get a sponge and wipe it off when you do a water change. My plecostomus (algae eater) does a great job at keeping my tank clean.

If it's alot of algae, you're gonna have to use a sponge. If it's small amout, get a couple of plecostomus (sucker fishes) or algae eaters (another type of fish). They do a really good job the keeping your tank clean.

get a good filter system from a pet store. or get one of those sucky fish that hang on the sides of the tank and eat the algae. don't know what they are called, but the pet store will. this is much better than sticking your hand into the tank with a little towel to clean off the scum yourself.

Buy one of those fish that eat algae. You can find them at any local pet shop like "Wet Pets and Critters". Youll know them when you see them, they stay stuck to the side of the tank with their mouth. They clean their tank, and I think their awfully cute too..
