Take it to a mechanic that deals with airbags, even with the battery unhooked a spark can set the air bag off. An air bag is set off when a spark sets off an explosive charge. Take it to a mechanic and have it done properly, or you could be badly injured.

Did you not have insurance? You're spending a lot on this car to get it back to original condition. I'm all for people fixing their own cars but air bags are something you want done by a certified professional. It could go off and possibly kill you while you're trying to install it. These are very sensitive devices.

The airbag is a small explosive device and trying to fix it your self will cause damage to it or injury to some one els so i would say take it to the shop better to pay to get it fixed then to pay the lawyers when something goes wrong.....

Leave the airbag work to a professional. It can be very dangerous.
