My computer has a feature called System Restore that I use to reset to the original factory settings. If you click on start, then all programs, then System Recovery and last System Restore. You will be instructed what to do after that.

No Operating system...No go.
Basically you can put ANY version of an O/S in your pc.
Windows 98,,,2000...ME...XP...
..Provided the motherboard has the memory to take it.
Might be best to ask around if any one got any old O/S hanging about.
Bung one in...at least you will be active again.
You'll still need a new CD drive..get second hand or a cheapy new one to get yourself started.
On second thoughts ...get a new one..the drivers will come with it.

As pasado manana tu madre asked; do you mean restore the factory settings?
I’ll ask, do you mean RESTORE FACTORY SETUP?
Also, what operating system are you using?
Are you using a MAC or IBM based PC?
You may find your answer in what some of the others have told you to do but without knowing specifically what you are trying to accomplish and with what, not wanting to steer you wrong in anyway, I won’t instruct you in what to do.

You could use someone else's cd and copy it. Or download a copy. and you can pickup a new cdrom/DVD writer for $30 to $50 these days... You could get a copy of the cd from torrent sites and or P2P. Or just buy a copy of it for $100 if its windows or for free if you used linux.

You will have to go out and buy a new copy of XP, and a new CD drive. Fortunately, those come pretty cheap. Unfortunately, XP doesn't.

try getting the disk's from the people who make the pc.
If you can get the cd's and put them into the drive, you can then do a system restore back to factory settings.
hope this helps...
