American Idol is supposed to have ppl chosen from their area, why the hell do so many suck at singing?

I think they keep some of the bad ones in for entertainment purposes!!

I agree since when has Paula Abdul had a hit lately. No one has ever even heard Simon sing, and I don't even remember the other guy's name. When you go on reality TV you are truly a has been if anyone Even knew who you were in the first place.

I honestly think some of these contestants believe they are good singers. Plus, it is totally different to sing accapella in front of 3 strangers than it is to say sing with your church choir. It takes confidence, good breathing technique and good pipes.
