I plan to be a preschool teacher, and I am wondering, when my children reach preschool age, should I have them attend the school that I teach at? If so, how do I help them to adjust to having thier mother make other children's needs important, and having to share their mother's attention with other kids?

i don't think any school would put your own child in your classroom to avoid conflict. as a parent that goes and helps in the classroom i always tell my child that when mommy is at school the schools rules and the teachers count, NOT mine. explain to the child that as a teacher u have rules u have to follow just as much as the child does. if the child is already a prescholer, go volunteer in the classroom and show the child the teacher is in charge and that u also have to give other kids attention if u r there to help, tht way it will make the child understand it easier once u get the degree

This is a tough one.
I would do all I could to insure that my children would have a teacher other than mom, especially in preschool.
If it had to be, however, I would spend some time in the car talking about the situation. I would also think of some signal or code that your child could help you develop. This code would remain a secret even and especially in the classroom. Both of you could use the code to express a need for a private chat. Name it the "soncode" or "daughtercode". This would support the child in his knowledge that even though many may need his mom's help, he is special with his "suncode".

i think thats a bad idea. they probably will feel jealousy toward the other kids. plus the teachers have favorites. its just not fair. i had a baseball coach who's daughter is on the team. shes like the most important on the team and had me sit out and put her daughter's friends in the feild. i came to every practice, they dont. thats against the rules to sit people out the whole game after all the work i did and the other girl. its not fair. so i quit baseball.
