it depends on which university you look for, but mostly they ask for thinsg shown as below:

1) GPA (average grade from high school)
2) SAT / TOFEL score (SAT is recommended)
3) speicial skill is good for well known school
4) proved or written by a famous people, they can add credit to your accpetance too.
5) if the applicant's parents are also grdauted from university, it can add credit to the applicant.
