It may sound like an absurd question, but I really would like to know the kind of response that people would have. So imagine that you learned this about you neighbor. You would likely be shocked. It has many implications. What would you do?

I would say, "Well, that explains it". But so long he's a naturalized citizen, even a part chimpanzee is free to live in this wonderful country.

This isn't much different than finding out that I have a neighbor who has some other physical abnormality. Say I heard that my neighbor had 6 fingers. I only know from that that I shouldn't buy him 5 fingered gloves for christamas.

Everything useful I will have to learn by observation and interaction. Same as I would do with any other neighbor. The only thing different is that I might be sensitized in the way I look. I might say, "Oh yeah, that howling noise at night might be because he is part chimpanzee."

Other than that, the information isn't really telling. Any prejudice I might feel would disappear or be strengthened only after interacting with him/her/it.
