As a dream psychologist I find your dreams easy to understand.
You both have the same fear deeply rooted within you.
Let me interpret for you:
In the dream you are being chased by a ferocious dog.
This is the sympathy part of your dream.
Jumping on the hood of the car is the explanation part of your dream.
It goes like this: You wreck Dads car and concoct this ridiculous story to gain sympathy from your Dad, while at the same time explaing the damage to the hood of his car.
His dream is the fear that you will do this to his car when you drive it. I hope this answer is satisfactory to you. Ha Ha GOTCHA!!!!!

The meaning behind dreaming of a dog-A dog expresses a spontaneous response to people and events.Dogs depict your natural feelings beneath social training. The dog also depicts giving and receiving love.
Being friendly with the dog shows you are relaxed about your own feelings of love,of anger, and sexuality. But if you are being attacked or threatened by the dog,it shows you having problems with spontaneous feelings of anger or love,or are feeling attacked by someone else. The leash depicts you are being in command of your anger, love and feelings about other people-or if there is some struggle, there is an anxiety bout expressing your freely. If your dog is free, and you are happy, you have a harmonious relationship with your feelings.A recognised dog is usually a key to your feelings or need of affection. Some people lavish parental love on the dog,for others it is a friend who has shown them unconditional love.
I hope I was of some sort of help.Take care.

Look, in my country, Greece, people who explain dreams say that when you see a dog in your dream it is an enemy (in addition with real life !). Maybe you have a problem that makes both of you stressed and this maybe influences your dreams. I don't know, you have to search in your real life to find the answer.

No. Dreams are essentially just flotsam and jetsam; they're your brain regurgitating information it has taken in during the day.

It could mean that you are running
away from something. Perhaps
something important in your life.
It could also mean that something
is bothering you and your not confronting
it. What do you think it is? :)
