Possibly. I know that in the Tudor period there was a role and it was considered a good role where you would check the wee and poo of the king and queen for consistency. Its was considered a very important job and members of the court would be envious of the person holding such a job so a will shaker may be around still. personally i would rather have a willy sucker but it's a start.
