I had not heard this but it seems improbable as Muslims do not marry christians. their family would kill them. and the opportunities for romance do not exist for our troops. They do not get R&R in Morocco for instance as the Korean War soldiars did in Japan or the WW II GIs did in italy and france.
It cannot be so. i think it is just a silly story.

I really don't think that this is happening as much as you have heard. I mean let's be real, how would they get her out of there? Soldiers deploy with their units...they don't usually allow extra guests along for the trips. My husband is there now and though he always has many fascinating stories to share with me this is truly one that I find hard to believe. It's a grand production just to get home on leave there's no way to do it with an Iraqi companion without risking the lives of all involved.

I had not heard this but as with all military men, there is always that open window to meet, fall in love, and marry, etc., women from the countries in which they have served. I don't think it is as easy in Iraq as it was in Vietnam.

It would be hard to fall in love of someone who doesn't even know your same language! besides the religion differences, legal status if they get married and some other stuff...i don't think this is truth...it might happened a few times but thats it.
