I suppose that depends on what kind of situation you're talking about. For example, it's polite to divert your eyes when a couple is...displaying PDA, but sometimes I just stare for a little while and smile because I'm a sucker for that romantic stuff. In any other case....I'm pretty sure that I know when to look away because I just do that a lot anyway. It's almost as if I can feel the embarrassment of whoever or whatever it is that I'm looking at, so maybe that's why I stare a little longer at people in love...they're not embarrassed to show their feelings when they're kissing in public, obviously ;)
