1. phillip rivers - i hate to say it, because im not a big fan of him, i dont think hes so great, however, anyone who has LT in the backfield with him is going to be one to hold on to. throw in the fact that he has antonio gates and a coach and gm that are only going to want to improve because of their dissapointing finish in the playoffs this year, and he should be a good pick to hang on to.

2. matt hasselbeck - is he a pro bowler? no, but he is a solid quarterback in a league full of inconsistency (thats not named peyton). simply because he plays in a relatively weak division, espescially against those opposing defenses, and because he shows that shaun alexander is not the only offensive threat in seattle

3. heath miller - honestly, the last one is a very tough call. i only choose heath miller because i think he is overlooked and tight ends are rare. marques colston (and maybe even dallas clark) should not have eligibility next year as an end, which leaves only todd heap, tony gonzalez, and antonio gates as top producers at that position. will miller be with those guys? no, not yet, but i do look for him to have a quiet, yet productive season

if youre not comfortable with those picks:

kellen winslow - well, he plays in cleveland, and i think he is very reckless in his personal life which can and will lead to injuries (ahem, ben rothlesburger), if he gets out of cleveland and goes to a team where a decent qb is throwing to him, then he might be worth keeping.

javon walker - the only thing i worry about here is the team he plays on. just based on the fact that he will have a young unestablished qb throwing to him is a red flag to me. he is a good reciever, but a wide out cant do much if the qb cant get him the ball. there are better recievers out there, and nobody knows who will be the next breakout player like marques colston next year.

travis henry - good back, but terrible offensive line

players to avoid

chad pennington - he maybe the comeback player of the year, but the roller coaster that is chad pennington's career is headed straight towards mediocreville. his coach can only do so much, throw in the fact that he's often injured, and i wouldnt take him. he would be a good backup, maybe play him when he plays against a terrible team, but not more than twice a year. definitely not worth wasting one of your 3 keeper spots on

clinton portis - as much as joe gibbs likes to run the ball (and no, coach gibbs isnt going anywhere) portis is coming off injury plagued seasons the past two years, which has caused the emurgance(i probably misspelled that) of ladell betts as a top back in the league (over 5 yards per carry last year), including signing him to a long term deal. the redkins have a great offensive line, but the two backs will split the carries, similar to the way cedric benson and thomas jones do in chicago. would you keep any of those guys? the only reason to keep portis is to either hope he gets traded, or to use him as trade bait before everyone else realizes that hes not what he used to be

keyshawn johnson - huge red flag, has mentioned he is considering retirement. 'nuff said

Rivers (remember this is his first full season as a starter, and he had the fourth best QB rating) he is also young and still learning, he is going to be in a class with Manning and Brady.

Portis this year was a fluke, he was hampred by injuries all season long, and it showed on his statline, he will be back to form next year running for 1300 plus and a few TD's

Walker, he did an excellent job this year, after bouncing back from his injury, and next year he will have an accurate Jay Cutler throwing the ball to him (cutler will be in his second year, and should be a whole lot better, and is more accurate than plummer

K Jones is fourth on my list, because he continues to be hampered by injuries, reminding me of another RB Fred Taylor, great fantasy back, if he can stay healthy. Also the Lions could be looking to draft a Bigger Back for this reason. And that could mean splitting carries

I would say it depends on what points your league gives out.. If you get points for each reception as well as the yardage, I would def go with solid running backs that are in a passing scheme offense. Then I would go with Wide receivers.. These two slots usually get more points than any other position.. One from each position, I would go with Rivers, Portis, Walker, and Winslow.

a million) Pavel Pardo (Stuttgart) 2) Andres Guardado (Depor) 3) David Suazo ( Inter) 4) Tim Howard (Everton) 5) Rafa Marquez (Barca) 6) Carlos Salcido (PSV Eindhoven) 7) Landon Donovan (Galaxy) 8) Memo Ochoa (us of a) 9) Carlos Vela (Osasuna) 10) Brian McBride (Fulham) I depending my rankings in this previous season. There some gamers that were hampered by using injuries like Marquez, Guardado, and McBride, notwithstanding even as they did play they were an asset to their respective communities.

1-Walker - Just had a great season
2-Hasselbeck - Never really returned from injury, without which, he was a great QB
3-Miller - Had an off season in 2006, but still, a top 5 TE, behind Gates, Shockey, Gonzalez, and Crumpler

Clinton Portis, because despite his injuries this past season, he's still a top five back. One thing I would also recommed, is picking up Ladell Betts for insurance purposes.
