basically its the police involving members of the local community to gain information and help.
theoretically locals have inside knowledge of the area, who's who etc.
if police spent more time "community policing" as opposed to "preventitive policing" there would be far less crime. statistics show where there are higher levels of beat bobbies "visible policing" crime is reduced

Community policing existed long ago - This is not a new concept just the buzz word changed. Police working a foot beat learned their community , business owners, and the criminal element. This so called partnership slipped away when Officers were placed in cars - this isolated the police from the community.

this is a great idea for the british police, unfortunatly that police word is only a cover they are "european forces of occupation" they are now an arm of the government, the government belong to the european ideal which is totaly corrupt. it is in the interest of the police to be set free like the people have been demanding for thirty years, they are also on the look out for people who reject sodomy as being a good thing, and still beleive its bad thing....
now what?

you see it in the local rag where police officers attend community event to raise and improve their PR. It could also involve these neighbourhood watch teams

Nothing more than a social buzzword. Getting involved with communities. Geez, just bring back the bobby on the beat with his big truncheon!
