several hundred international passengers have to travel between pune and sahar international airport in mumbai. there isn't, to my knowledge, any dependable service, except a few mini buses run by private operators. any suggestion on a good dependable service where one does not have not do previous booking?

Direct luxury class buses are available @ the Shivaji International airport itself.

Without previous bookings, convenient and dependable travel services will be impossible to locate near airport.
You can contact a very dependable transport operator near airport/ Parle for car. This is easy to arrange and most dependable.
But you will have to arrange this before hand.

You can get taxis known as cool cabs(blue coloured) just outside the airport
