I think it depends on the height of the heel. In my twenties and thirties I wore killer high heels (three inches or more); now in my forties I finally get that I don't have to teeter and risk my health in order to look sexy.
Talk to your doctor, or specifically a podiatrist. Don't buy into what the media, fashion magazines and men tell you about high heels. None of them will have to deal with the foot and reproductive problems that wearing these shoes can bring, only you will.

until it starts hurting really bad. my grandma use to always wear 3 inch heels now she doesnt cuz it hurts her back. and shes in her 70's
