Try Jodi Picoult, my all-time favourtie writer. Especially The Pact, and My Sister's Keeper are great, but really, all her books are page-turners.
They are unpredictable, and always with a rather controversail subject.

I have found all of James Patterson, and John Grisham books to be page-turners. When I read either of these two author's books, I find that hours go by in a flash.

Two other book that I've read recently and really enjoyed is the Life of Pi.
