Well step on the gas....How the hell is anyone supposed to know what could be wrong? Any clue what year your vehicle is? Cable and elec speedos have diff problems. Bad question.

It could be three things. The first thing I would check would be the speedometer cable. The next would be the sending unit on the transmission, and the third would be the speedometer head itself. Why not take it to a speedometer shop and save yourself a headache?

have you had work done to the transmission? sometimes they forget to plug in the speedometer cable on the transmission. also didn't say what year you have. good luck.
