Nightwish has a female singer, as does Within Temptation and Xandria. If you want more hardcore stuff try Walls of Jericho and Otep. For punk, try the (now defunct) Lunachicks and Betty Blowtorch. For good Alt rock try Go Betty Go and Magneta Lane. For odd music, try Rasputina and Dresden Dolls. If you can FIND anything by Wench, they are pretty nice too. Old school alternative to modern day should be Veruca Salt and Garbage. For classic female try Concrete Blonde and Siousixie and the Banshees. For softer songs, try Heartless Bastards. For bands like Lillix I would recommend Pretty Girls Make Graves and The Gossip.

I have many more if you'd like, most of my music is female singers. Oh, I almost forgot! Jack off Jill and Scarling. Scarling is slightly emo and Jack off Jill was their band before scarling, think of it as a female led Marilyn Manson.

Do you mean Chick rock? If so, check out McQueen, Crucified Barbara and Vixen for some great all-girl rock.

Yeah - the Donnas are really cool - can't believe I forgot them. And Girlschool. And the Runaways. Nico as well I like.

If it's girl-led bands then Hole, Powder, Heart, Shocking Blue, there's a new heavyish band out as well, can't think of their name right now. Lauren Harris. No Doubt of course. Lita Ford. Joan Jett. The list is endless really.

The Slits peel sessions is good. The Breeders and Elastica, although they are not all girls. I second the raincoats. The Go Gos. Bikini Kill, Erase Errata, I don't really like Babes in Toyland or Girlschool but plenty other people do.

I truly agree. You gotta comprehend that ninety% of us of a's young ones are fully helpless hostile to traits and THE MEDIA. "classic" and "Indie" are in immediately, the picture of "Grunge" grow to be in even as i grow to be a baby, i presumed is grow to be the coolest element in the international. genuine appreciation of bands like the Stones must be reserved for music snobs, who provide a s#!t about rock's roots. i'm a finished music snob, yet i could care a lot less about rock's roots. I truly have about four hundred albums by using 250-three hundred artists and bands that I in many circumstances pay interest to, no longer one in all them is Beatles or The Rolling Stones, and that i'm no longer that delighted by using Led Zeppelin, both. So, I consider you that that's a touch stupid to have young ones act like authentic followers of bands from the 60's and 70's, I assure you that there are a variety of of bands obtainable holding it authentic should you favor modern-day rock, that are regurgitating no longer some thing.
