I just got back from a meeting at my job. I work very hard and try to do my best but our company just makes things tougher for us although most of us only get 30 hours and make less than 7 an hour. We have these secret shop things. We are constantly short staffed and we all end up doing mutiple things. It is easy to remember to ask all the questions and put on the phony act we have to, to the customers and to try to push them into something they don't want but when I am overworked and have 3 customers at the same time and 2 projects due at the end of the day and have to answer the phone and alll, I can't always remember to push stuff on all the customers. I am supposed to push the customers that come to my register to buy something from the register area. If they wanted a candy bar or a chapstick, I'm sure they would pick it up and it just sounds silly to push it on someone who is buying a binder or a telephone. And when you are sick, you don't always feel like being pushy.

we don't get sick pay and are shorthanded so I always work when I am sick (even the flu) because I can't afford to miss work and anyway my manager gets angry anytime someone calls in for any reason. He even made an employee who was off for 2 months because of a car accident, reapply and retrain even though they had worked there for 2 years. Nothing changed in the 2 months they were gone that required starting over again.
