Henin-Hardenne withdrew earlier in the week, citing personal family problems. Sharapova is the top women's seed.

Actually I'm so hoping for Hingis to win, but it's going to be an uphill battle for her, cos players like Clijsters, Sharapova and Mauresmo are stronger.

Federer, you can not logically think anyone else will win the title. The next best bet would be Roddick. Nadal has a very volatile record on the hard courts and I believe he would be the worst bet to make at his odds.
As for the women's side, it is very open. Sharapova would be the best bet, but it would be far from a confident bet. As many as 12 women have a good chance of taking the title.

On the men's side you have to go with Federer. He is the defending champion, but he come in to the tournament after a rare loss to Andy Roddick in a warm up event last week. Roddick and James Blake have an outside chance, but both have really struggled against Federer head-to-head. Plus Blake has never beaten Federer.
The women's side is much more wide open, I like Maria Sharapova to win, but one who bears watching is Jelena Jankovic she won a warm up event two weeks ago and is playing very well right now and barely lost to Clijsters last week at the Medibank Classic Final so she comes in this Aussie Open with major confidence. She got to the semifinals last year at the US Open and plays very well on hard courts, so she's my dark horse pick.

For women, i say Maria Sharapova will win
For men, i'd like to believe andy roddick will win, but i think roger federer will take this one
but im still optimistic for andy because he beat roger at the AAMI kooyong classics a couple days ago in the finals
I have a feeling rafael nadal wont get past either andy or roger

Federer should win in the mens draw, but i am hoping Murray can pull off a shocker
In the womens draw, i think that Sharapova has a good chance of winning, now that Henin-ardenne has pulled out. It will be close between Clijsters and Sharapova, but i think the russian will win.
