I am really not sure. My wife is a housewife and she does nothing the majority of the day. I do not know how she keeps her self sane. If I was in that position I think I would be climbing the walls.

Well I find there aren't enough hours in the day to do all I have to do!

I have a network of friends online. I volunteer at school. I do fundraising. I work from home too. I use that money for a maid cause I HATE housework! LOL But I do love to cook so I spend my time on that and my kids keep me hopping with all their activities otherwise.

Use your time and get to know other moms in your area. It's easier when kids are in school, but I'm sure there are a lot of mom and tot places or groups for your area and if not start a club that meets once or twice a week.

Gosh I love just going shopping, even if just to window shop and get ideas, and catch a good movie, even if I'm by myself. I eat lunch in the park and take nature in...I don't have a problem talking to anyone I run into and often that's the best part of my day! In summer I bike ride and plug in my MP3 player and walk the boardwalk or swim...wow...no way I could ever be bored, sorry!

I know how you feel! I have been home for 2 years now and at first I went crazy. I have two babies now that keep me pretty busy but I sure do miss being at work or at least out of doors. The first 2 months or so were pretty great, cause I got the house work done and then i could relax and play games or whatever. But then I got BORED. I had it down to a science when the kids would be home and when he would come home so dinner would be ready when he walked in the door. Before the babies came, I did a lot of walking and stuff and got into cross stitch... it gave me time to think about things I really enjoyed doing by myself

Why are you doing nothing? I have been a housewife for 40 years and there never seems to be enough hours in the day. Sometimes I wish i could take a vacation, but I don't have the time.

I'm not sure of your exact situation, but from experience I found being a "housewife" extremely busy job. I am currently recovering from an accident, but prior to this I never had a minute to think. I ran my own company from a home office, full time mom to two children (4 & 8), cooked meals every night, baked, volenteered at the school and did all of my own housework. I can't imagine that you can't find anything to do.

Go on Yahoo Q & A. I can easily sit down in front of the computer and be there for a couple hours. Summer is right around the corner. Maybe you could take up gardening. It's a great pasttime.

if you have kids home ,that should keep you busy,, if no kids at home,, find a hobby,or get a job,or join the local gym,go to centers where people meet to do crafts and stuff! there is always something to do or be done. good luck! this is only a guys point of view, so it probably does`nt count! hey what about doing some volunteer stuff?

Trust me I have been there!! (in a since i am still there)

What I discovered is going online, and finding sites that cater to housewives are very helpful. Also, if you build an online community of women that you can chat with.

you can email me, I will be your friend!

Why can't you get a job? Or work from home? If you can't work, make more friends and start doing things you enjoy..hobbies or working out...play tennis, train for a marathon, take up scrapbooking, volunteer to read to elderly people or train them in basic computer use...whatever, there's a million things to do. There's really no excuse to be bored.
