Every year I usually arrive at her home in the mornings to exchange gifts, last year I gave her my gift, but she didn't have mine. She claims she has it- last weekend I was going to go over again for the exchange(per her request), but she then said she was too busy.Till this day- she would talk about exchanging the gift- but now I think it's a little silly considering it's been too long. I personally think she never got me a present. Am I wrong? What do you think is the case? Should I go over to her house again? Or have her come to mine since I'd made so many attempts. Should I call it quit or take the gift if she really has it? Sorry so many questions- she'd never done this to me before. Thanks.

Thanks people- for your comments. It really is helpful. I really don't care about receiving a gift from her- it just bothers me that she's still talking about it, because I really didn't know how to tell her that I don't want it. But I just sent her a nice email that her friendship was all I needed. Thanks again. =)

Keep in mind that she doesn't HAVE to give a gift and you shouldn't blatantly expect one. Don't keep on going to "get" your present, it'll just seem needy and annoying. Perhaps she's short on cash for some reason or she really /is/ busy.

Many things hapens for the first time in life. This is not a big thing to bring complix in a relation as that. You should give it up. Just try to understand her situation. She might have been broke, and cant just pack for you a cheep gift. However, in friendhiship even a chocolate is a best gift, if that is exchanged with love. You should better give her the feeling that you are still with her, and that you just dont care about these small stuffs. These things come in life, but they are not so important to break up or bring any complix in your relation. That will also give her confedence to let you know what was the real cause she couldnt provide you the prsent this time. Have fun!

It's hard to say why she didn't get a gift for you, but as a friend, you should forgive. You shouldn't give with the expectation of receiving. If it really bothers you that much, you should discuss it with her. Possibly suggest that you stop exchanging gifts altogether, eliminating the issue in the future.

Why is that gift so important? Let the matter rest. She will give it to you or she won't, anyway next Christmas you should suggest not to exchange gifts. If she's a good friend, gifts don't matter, and if she's not, dump her. Simple as that.

Are you guys friends because of the gifts u share or are you friends because you truly wanna be friends. Think about it and dont let material things get in the way of the friendship.

Well first and this is only my opinion mind you. But Christmas is about GIVING NOT receiving. So with this in mind I'd let it go. She may have forgotten or maybe doesn't have the extra money. Ask her over for dinner and maybe the two of you can go out. Good Luck.

Maybe she is too embarrassed to tell you the real reason she "forgot" your present. Maybe she is broke and can't afford something for you. You should really ask her what is wrong (be nice). There may just be a good explanation so don't jump to conclusions!

ARE YOU 2 REALLY GOOD FRIENDS OR JUST SEE AND TALK SOMETIMES. DON'T THINK I'D MAKE ANY MORE MOVES ON GETTING TOGETHER FOR GIFT EXCHANGE. DON'T THINK SHE GOT YOU ONE.

Call it good. She's your friend and that should be gift enough. Besides maybe she's fallen on hard times and is kind of embarassed about it.
