alright, so, the week before a big meet, don't eat a whole lot of carbs, then the night before your big meet load up on as many carbs as possible. Also drink a bottle of water the night before and the day of. Drink lots of water through out the week. When you run, run so that you can see your thumbs rise, so when you bring them up their at about eye level. It helps open up your lungs. When your running up a hill, run so it's like your being pulled from your bellybuttom, that helps so that you're not to tired when you get to the top and helps open up your lungs also. I always chew gum when I run so I'm not thinking too much. Also, counting steps helps a lot

i dont know why these people are saying 'wear loose fitting clothing to run'... you dont want to wear loose things, you pick up too much wind resistance. but 210 yards? wth? so random. if thats a one time deal then go ahead and wear that stuff, but not if you are running on a regular basis. dont wear a regular bra. wear (obviously) running shoes. as long as you dont eat candy or drink caffiene the day of or before the run you shouldnt have to worry about what you eat, for 210 yards.... and just dont give up. now if you are running track on a REGULAR BASIS (and more than 210 yards a day) you need to be drinking at least 64 oz water a day, or more.8 cups minimum. eat healthy food every day and lay off of the soda/tea/vitamen waters. dont eat sweets too much. once in a while is okay. i run in a fitted nike sports tank every day with some running shorts with the built in undies and a sports bra. i run in asics. and little people run. our leading 3200m is about 5'1''.

well ensure you start eating a low fat high complex carbohydrate diet as this will help you tune into your racing and give the correct energy systems that you will require at some point whilst training.
Pacing is always good to remember for track- racing or training.
and hydration drink either plain H2O (can't go wrong) or experiment with electrolyte drinks and again complex carbohydrate drinks.
which you should consume before during and after excercise

What events will you run? I ran the 440, 880, and the mile relay. The night before, eat pasta and stay away from greasy food. Eat some cereal and drink juice in the morning. Good luck!!
