I know that there are instructions on the box and everything, but I will literally go through a whole box of tampons just from trying so many times. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but it won't go in all the way. Does my hymen have to be broken before I can use them. When I had my pelvic exam, it hurt really bad when they inserted what; would that have to do with anything?

Try lying down while inserting the tampon. I had the same problem. I wondered what the heck was going on and why couldn't I get this thing inside of me. I went to the gynecologist and she suggested that I lay down on my back and try to insert the tampon. Take your time and don't force it. After a few successful attempt on your back, you'll be able to sit on the toilet and insert them. Good luck.

its ok hun just take your time. i was the same way when i first started using them. your hymen hasn othing to do with it like some girls are ledl to belive. start with thte juniors. sit on a toliet or something. take the tampon in you hand and insert it until your finger touch your skin, or then the bigger tube rim is just outsdie of you. then slowly push the skinnier tube threw the bigger tube until they meet up again. make sure you go slow and try it at a 45 degree angle or it may be uncomfortbale. its realy painful to take it out to early b4 its saturated so try not to unless you have to. once its ful it will be alot easier t take out. i really hope this helps good luck :]

As for the pain,it may be a yeast infection.
If it does not go in all the way, then either you or the tampon is not positioned right or your flow is not heavy enough.
Be extremely careful, you could get TSS.
Consult your doctor, she might be able to help figure out why you are experiencing pain and why you can not use one.

Your hymen has nothing to do with using a tampon. It takes a while to get the hang of it. Keep trying. Good luck.
