Charles the first was quite an opiniated man who believed that it was his God given right to rule . He believed that his whole being was out of divine , God given powers . This would probably manifest itself in arrogance towards others . Cromwell did not want to execute him , but demanded that he conceded that he was not sent by God to rule . After some 3 years he would not do so and was beheaded . He also had 7 sisters so this would probably have had an impact on relationships.

Headstrong and influenced by his wife.
As with all members of the House of Stuart / Stewart he didn't interfere with matters of religion but allowed the country to take it's own course. This allowed the Puritan factions to spread which led to his downfall.
Whilst he believed in the divine right of Kings this was common enough at the time.
Cromwell was a troublemaker and religious zealot, he ultimately won the civil war by proving the King was right in the original argument.
