Why are gay men so nice? Especially to women? I have a gay friend who has gone beyond any boundaries of friendship for me, nothing inappropriate just nice and caring....
I am a straight woman and ended falling for him because I did not know he was gay.Now I am left disappointed...
You must be wondering I am complaining abt someone being nice...but it doesn't seem fair that one should be so extra nice without considering the possibilities...and this man doesn't look gay with his mannerisms.
No one in my entire life, family,friends, boyfriend, ex-husband has ever been this nice.....is this just the way gay men are?
Is it possible that he is bisexual, and that he has feelings too.....he is dating a man that is not going well....
Take my word for it, this niceness is not normal of any straight people I met or heard of who want to be just friends,either it is a gay people's trait or he shares my feelings.....any thoughts will be appreciated.

Well it's nice to know that your friend has gone above and beyond to be nice. Unfortunately, all gay men are not nice. Some are, and some aren't. Just like any other group of people.
That stated, one of the reasons gay men can be perceived as nice, is that they have gone through a lot of persecution through their lives, including that from the general public, their parents, other family members, and even friends (before they came out), so there is a unique perspective and appreciation for kindness.
It is possible that he is bi-sexual, but I would say you should not risk your great friendship with him. If something further develops, let it develop on it's own.

I don't think that your situation has anything to do with gay men. You just mistook his niceness for a different feeling. It's possible that he was being so nice to you because he knew you were married and that there was no possibility of you falling in love with him. And yes, it is possible that he may be bi and going through hard times with his significant other, and maybe that's why he's being so nice. He can identify with what you're going through so he chose you as a friend. You know, like misery loves company? Gay men are much nicer than the so called straight men they dont feel the need for the machoism and chest beating that straight men go in for they dont need to be the king kong to frighten of other men they are comfortable with whom they are and proud
Straight men can be and often are utter pigs has for your friend being bi sexual well lets hope so they can be excellent lovers from past experience gentle non commanding but if he is not dont worry keep him round has a friend he will remind you how a real man should act

Gay guys for the most part will be nice to anyone who is nice to them. A lot of gay guys have a female friend who they are closer friends with so they can talk about things with them that they can't tell anyone else.

because, being nice is in our blood? I'm always nice because i do know for a fact that you never know if the person your talking to is having a bad day or not, and besides that theres no reason to be mean or act mean to anyone, not even if they call me a ****** or a sick F*ck, I know that being nice is the best solution to any problem.
