1. Not necessarily, but if you have no experience in changing processors, I would recommend finding someone who does, especially since its a laptop.
2. It should not disrupt anything if done correctly.
3. Yes
4. Shouldn't have to, that model does come with Turion X2s, so the board should support them.

I would recommend hiring an experienced professional. laptops are way different than a desktop. If it were a desktop I would guide you step by step...a laptop is different...to change a processor you will need to disassemble the laptop...a bunch of tiny little screws, fragile connectors...

As long as you don't break anything it should go off without a hitch.

A faster processor should help improve the performance. Check with Dell to ensure the new processor will work with your MB.

Call someone.

If you don't know much about computer hardware, then I suggest getting a pro to do it or someone who does know about computer hardware. You also need to make sure your motherboard supports x2 because if it doesn't it will force the processor to work at whatever its(the mobo) highest speed is at. It should make it faster if its X2, and without disrupting anything...well, taking any hardware off the motherboard could disrupt something unless you know what you're doing.

yes it is easy and certainly do-able by someone with limited experience but you need to find out if the motherboard can take the processor - if not then yes you will have to change it
