Nash hands down. While Jason Kidd is a good passer, Steve Nash creates things out of virtually nothing. Kidd has good vision, but Steve's is just better. Nash is dominating the stats this year, is having his best season and he is already a two time MVP.

Steve Nash because he brought the Suns up from nothing to one of the best if not the best teams in the league. He's a better leader than Kidd and has more skill. With that being said, Jason Kidd is up there as one of the best PG of our time.

Kidd is a lot better player
he'll score enough when he needs to
pass where he actually has to create a shot unlike nash who passes the ball to the wing while his team hoists up 20 footers with 20 seconds left on the shot clock
rebounds extremely well for a point guard, those triple doubles don't come cheap
and the biggest reason is Kidd and all of his all defensive teams while nash can have a good game of 20 points and 10 assists but give up just as much if not more on the other end. Hell nash gave up a triple double to a third string point guard last year, his defense is terrible

Two best PGs in the league, that's a tough one. I'd go with Kidd just because most everybody else went with Nash. Nash may have the better stats but I think Kidd has the intangibles that make him the better of the two. J-Kidd can also rebound which I think is a plus.

The answer to the question really depends on what kind of team you are looking for. When I play basketball for my team, we usually win if we run a break offense like UCLA, which is basically what the Phoenix Suns run, with Nash leading the break. Because Nash is such a good passer, but can shoot and drive to the basket, it is very hard to guard him on a fast break. However, if you wanted to run a set offense, with a fast tempo, like the Nets, Lakers, or Heat, Jason Kidd would be the best pick. For my team I would chose Steve Nash, for his ability to run a high paced break.

Nash, because he is more consistent. Jason Kidd sometimes has awsome games and then very very bad ones. Nash is always superb. However, the times that Kidd plays well he plays a lot better than Nash. I still pick Nash, anyday, anytime, anywhere

Overall, Kidd, let's not forget Nash just brought his game to this level 2 years ago and he doen't play defense or rebound. If they both retired right now Kidd would be in the Hall of Fame and i'm not sure a couple of good seasons would put Nash on that Hal of Fame level. Just like Kurt Warner with the Rams a couple of great seasons does not a career make At least a decade of consitency like Kidd has is the key.

I would have to say Jason Kidd. At least he led the New Jersey Nets to the NBA Finals twice. He should have won the MVP in 2002.
