Ok so I think its pretty much proven Sylvia Browne is a fake now. Shawn Hornbeck, (the child who was recently found alive after being missing since 2002) His family went on the television show Montel, They decided to talk to Sylvia Browne, the psychic he has on his show all the time. She told the family that their son was dead. And made this big story about where he was and that he was kidnapped by a dark skinned man. When I read an article about this I was in amazement..She was wrong and totally decieved this family. What do you all think about this?

I'm just wondering how can you tell someone that his/her son is dead? I mean how can she sleep at night.

You are so right about Sylvia! I watch the Montel show and every Wed. my mom and I watch together for a good laugh. A couple of weeks ago a lady from the audience asked her why she hadn't won the lottery and Sylvia said she wasn't going to win any lottery. The lady shot her down really fast and well, told her she had met with Sylvia at a book signing and she told her she would win the lottery and her marriage would only last 10 to 11 years. She was still happily married and going on 12 years. Sylvia does 20 readings a day, at $700.00 or more for 20 mins. now do the math and consider her book sales and her public speaking tours and pay for view shows. Yeah, Sylvia is in it to HELP people. By the way, she claims to work on readings 6 days a week. Nice scam she and her son have going.

As soon as I saw Shawn Hornbeck's picture I remembered that particular show. Immediately I said Sylvia Browne is lying to people. I remember that segment so clearly. Shawn's mom had really blonde hair then and she asked Sylvia "Is he still with us?" and Sylvia looked at her and shook her head and said no. Can you imagine what his parents have gone through after hearing her tell them their son is dead. His mother looks so aged and completely different from how she looked on Montel.
I just hope their family can move on from this tragic ordeal and be strong for one another. May God bless this family and heal them.

I'm glad that story became public. All of these "psychics" who go on TV shows are frauds. They're using a common "psychic" tactic called cold reading. Sylvia Browne was literally convicted for fraud in the past. She's made a living out of scamming people her entire life.
Just use common sense when you see people like Sylvia Browne or John Edwards. If our dead relatives could REALLY contact us, why wouldn't they give specific warnings? Things like car accidents would be eliminated because our dead relatives could just warn us.
Then ask yourself why someone like Sylvia Browne has to charge money for her services at all. Can't she just play the lottery? Can't she predict exactly what companies will succeed in the stock market, and invest in them? If she had real "psychic powers", she wouldn't be charging poor people large sums of money for her "services".
We all search for answers, or ways to get through sadness. That's why so many people WANT to believe these things. We can't allow ourselves to be victimized by these clearly evil people though.

My daughter was missing for 12 days back in 1997 & we were told by a psychic that she was dead & would be found face down in a body of water.
Lucky for her it wasn't true & she was no where near water.
She is alive & well to this day.
Lucky Shawn was as well.
That psychic Cleo wasn't psychic or she'd have know she was going to jail!

Ha. I saw this as well. I always suspected Sylvia to be a fraud, but now it's proven. What a fake. I'm very glad that Shawn Hornbeck is alive & well.

I watch Sylvia on Montel all the time. Now I think she's a fake because of what she did. If she was a real psychic why didn't she tell them where to find him. So psychic she is.

I saw that and that would have been heart breaking for Shawn's parents! I feel she should have something done to her for what she has done!! If i knew her or whatever i would have hit her so hard for what she has done! How dare she But why get involved let the family sort it out!! Hopefully they can "sort it out"!!

Well Sylvia's missed a few in the last years, but she is getting older. Don't think any psychic ever hits 100 per cent, but I don't discredit her or any other psychic either.

You rock, because she is a fraud. I went on her website, and she charges between $700-$800 for a fricken online reading. I didn't do it, and I'm glad you can also see through her crap.

Every time my bowels won't move, I look at her face for a cheap laxative.
Montel is very good, but what he sees in her I'll never know. Montel should wise up and dump her ASAP, if not sooner.
