Anyone can cut through the screen, but if you buy a good lock or chain to make it more difficult, people are less likely to make the attempt. Chain it to a permanent fixture.
Also, if you cover your bike with a tarp, your neighbours will be the only ones who will know there is a bike to steal. Try a dark/muted tarp, as the blue or orange ones will only draw attention.
If you still feel insecure about leaving it on the patio, that is no reason to be without a bike. You can buy hooks to suspend your bike from the ceiling or hang it on a wall to keep it out of the way inside your condo.

Never store a bike inside unless you drain every last drop of fuel out of it first. This will reduce the chance of a fire. If there were a fire your insurance probably wouldn't cover anything if they found out a motorcycle was stored inside. I'm not sure if a screened in patio is considered inside or not. Also, I'm sure your condo association will have something to say about it. Oh, and yes, the dealer is just trying to make a sale. Install an alarm system, use a heavy chain and get insurance. If a thief wants it bad enough he'll figure out a way to get it. That's just a fact of life. Just make it as hard as possible for him.

if they want ur bike bad enough, they'll steal it. but u could make it alot harder on them putting a rotor lock on the front fork. this dealer is in it for the money.
just throw a tarp over the bike when not riding. sport bikes would stand more of a risk getting stolen more than cruiser's...but if the thief wants the bike, he'll find a way to get it.

Big chain, big locks. Is it a bicycle, or a motorcycle? If it is a motorcycle, you need to add something like Sta-Bil to the gas if you are storing it for the winter. If you are just parking either overnight, you need to chain it to something that can't be moved, like a post supporting the deck above your patio.

they are trying to make a sale...if people break a window for a car..why wouldn't they break some screen for a nice new bike they could sell for crack? Yes I live in Florida, and unfortunately Daytona beach is a really bad area for crack, so I would give your bike 15 min. tops unattended before it was stolen.

I live in the Detroit area and people will steal ANYTHING! They are even stealing peoples' air conditioners out of windows in order to resell the copper.
