I ALWAYS do it, I usually think it's my kids friends (as they're always knocking, or ringing!)...So now I just send the kids!!!

Ha ha good question. Yes I do. my other half laughs at me all the time when I go to get up and he tells me the doorbell was on the tv.... I feel so silly when it happens (",)

I don't have a doorbell and I am on dial-up so my phone rarely rings when I am at home. I like it that way! I want a faster connection, but I keep dragging my feet because I am SOOO not a phone person...
If I think someone is knocking I wait to see if the dog barks. If he barks someone is there and I answer it. As much as I like being left alone I live in a very nice neighborhood with great neighbors.

Never with T.V. But this thing with the doorbell used to always happen to me when listening to Eminem's "Marshall Mathers' LP", track 18 (I think). There is this doorbell effect on it, and a couple times when listening to the cd with my roomate (while kinda buzzed), I would hear the doorbell, and get up and go to the door.

SupernaturalFan beat me to it, I was going to say the same thing!! We don't have a doorbell, but I've gotten up many times to answer the phone, even picked it up and said hello before I realized it was on the TV! LOL

That happens to me, except I always think my cell is ringing when someone's on tv does! I keep looking for it then I realize its on tv. Never happened with the doorbell though~!

Usually if a child cries I think my little boys woke up or hurt himself. I know this isn't your question but it's either Madonna or Gwen Steffani who had a song out several months ago with sirens at the beginning when i'm driving with my radio on if this comes on i always panic slightly looking in my mirrors for emergency services vehicles so I turn my radio of and relise it was coming from there. And yes I have hunted for my phone either to answer or thinking it's a text.

No but I sometimes fall for a mobile ringing on t.v when it's that awful Nokia ring tone that sounds like an ice cream van, I haven't even had that ring tone for at least 3 years and I still look round for my phone.
