That depends on where you live--even US states vary. Usually you don't have to move until you have your day in court, though.

Once you receive the eviction notice, it will state the termination move-out date (usually 30 days or LESS). If for non payment of rent, it must state how much is past due and if paid that you will be able to stay at least until the end of that rental period. If you do not pay, and don't move out, they could get a Forcible Entry and Detainer (FED) within 3 days, and the police chaparone your move out on that 3rd day. You can try to fight it, and generally that takes 30 days or less.

after the eviction notice goes up. you usually have 90 days to find a pllace to live. The court will send you out papers and give you 45 days to respond. If you dont send them in, then 30-45 days later they pass summary judgement against you and legally give the landlord the right to evict you.

if you had a landlord/tennant lease, they could not evict you for missing or being late one months rent and must give you 90 days to vacate. If they havent, contact an attorney...some will do th these cases pro bono (for Free).
