You know the saying power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I also believe it is possible for good people to become blinded by power and the fact they surround themselves with sycophants, like Bush did. Perhaps, in the beginning, they don't feel as if they are acting outside the scope of their power, but in the end the means are never justified.
